Excel template

An Excel pantry inventory template should stay useful after week three.

Keep the sheet sortable without burying it under columns nobody updates.

Excel earns its keep when the pantry is big enough that paper gets messy. A few filters, one low-stock flag, and a simple category column usually cover the real need. Anything beyond that starts to feel like warehouse software pretending to be a kitchen list.

The best starting columns are item, category, quantity, low-stock yes or no, and a short date note for the handful of products that truly matter. Freeze the header row, keep the categories plain, and avoid formulas that make the sheet scary for everyone else in the house.
